Introduction

Demonstrator of the AIMES infrastructure, that considers an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Description

This demonstrator considers an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where inputs and outputs of medical devices are controlled using a location service and where the technical failures occurred in the devices are managed using a monitoring service. Manual and automatic interactions can be carried out in the following ways:

  • Sending requests and information to the services.
  • Manipulating the device locations through incomes and outcomes from the ICU using RFID.
  • Causing technical faults on devices in the ICU.

It is a demonstrator of the service infrastructure developed in the AIMES project. The AIMES infrastructure is a service infrastructure for the hospital technical facility set, with includes the management tool’s integration with a communication infrastructure, distributed monitoring and diagnosis, remote access to medical equipments and the mobile medical equipment’s tracking and tracing using RFID.
