The project of efficient municipal facilities has been accepted by Bank of Good Practices of Local Government of Catalonia
The project of efficient municipal facilities developed by Robert Rusek and Joaquim Meléndez in the Càtedra Girona Smart City and in collaboration with the Ajuntament de Girona and the UMAT, has been accepted for inclusion in the Bank of Good Practices.
The aim of the efficient facility project is to make public data on energy consumption easily accessible both to the city managers, to detect abnormal energy behavior and to facilitate decision-making process, as well as to the citizens, to foster general awareness on energy consumption in public spaces and facilities. To this end, a set of public facilities form the city of Girona has been geo-localized (Google Maps API) and the data on energy consumption have been represented graphically (JavaScript, chart.js). The project is available under the following link: http://equipaments.catedragironasmartcity.cat/
In reference to the Bank of good practices (http://www.bbp.cat/), the objective is to promote improvement and innovation in local governments. The ways to achieve this are the diffusion of experiences, following a common methodology, and the reflection and exchange of knowledge about local policies in different areas such as: environment, mobility, technologies … The project is based on networking among the municipalities of more than five thousand inhabitants, the Federació de Municipis de Catalunya, the Fundació Carles Pi i Sunyer d’estudis autonòmics i locals and experts from the different areas of public policy.
