Mission
The eXiT group is affiliated to “Càtedra Girona Smart City” with the aim of making the University of Girona and the Girona City Hall academic and local government benchmarks, respectively, in the international sphere of smart cities.
Our mission is to promote the study, research and dissemination of the “smart city” concept, focusing in small and medium-sized cities (with the focus on Girona), by orgainsing research activities, technological transfer, debate and dissemination activities.
Actions
1. Teaching and training
Master’s Programme in Smart Cities
Lectures and seminars by professors and experts in various fields related to Smart Cities
Promotion of training activities (such as conferences and workshops) on Smart Cities and the research activities that derive from them
2. Projects on topics of interest to citizens
Data analysis, exploitation and dissemination
Supervision of spaces, equipment and/or resources
Developing solutions that benefit citizens
3. Girona, an energy-efficient city
Monitoring of energy demand (electricity, gas, water, etc.) at different levels of aggregation and temporal resolution
Benchmarking energy demand among municipal facilities
Coordination of studies on energy efficiency
Energy efficiency awareness and promotion
